Delete Your Account

Last updated August 18, 2026

In short

  • Delete your account yourself in the app: Settings → Delete Account. It takes effect immediately.
  • Already uninstalled NavFi? Email support@navfi.money from your account’s email address with the subject “Account deletion request”.
  • Subscribed through the App Store? Cancel there first — deleting your NavFi account does not stop Apple billing you.
  • Deletion is permanent. Your plan and financial data cannot be recovered.

This summary is for convenience only — the full text below is what governs.

1. Two ways to delete your account

You can delete your NavFi account and its associated data at any time, for any reason, without contacting us first. There are two routes:

  • From inside the app — the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately. See section 2.
  • By request, without the app — for anyone who has already uninstalled NavFi or cannot sign in. See section 3.

Both routes delete the same things. Deletion is permanent: your plan, your financial data, and your account cannot be recovered afterwards, and we cannot restore them for you.

2. Delete from inside the app

If you still have NavFi installed and can sign in:

  • Open NavFi and sign in.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Delete Account.
  • Choose a reason, then confirm with Delete permanently.

This happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no confirmation email to wait for — once you confirm, the account is gone and you are signed out on every device.

3. Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled NavFi, lost access to your device, or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you:

  • Email support@navfi.money with the subject Account deletion request.
  • Send it from the email address on the NavFi account. This is how we confirm the request is yours — we will not delete an account on the word of a different address.
  • If you cannot send from that address, say so in the message. We will ask you for something else that verifies you own the account before we act.

You do not need to reinstall the app, and you do not need an active subscription, to make this request.

4. Cancel your subscription first if you subscribed through Apple

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, deleting your NavFi account does not cancel that subscription. Apple, not NavFi Inc, controls App Store billing, and we have no way to cancel it on your behalf. If you delete your account without cancelling, Apple will keep charging you.

Cancel it first on your device: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → NavFi → Cancel, or through your App Store subscription settings.

If you subscribed on the web (Stripe checkout), you do not need to do anything. We cancel that subscription automatically as part of deleting your account, and you will not be charged again.

Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid — see our Refund Policy.

5. What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes your account and its associated records from our live systems, including:

  • Your profile — name, email address, password, sign-in sessions, and notification tokens.
  • Your bank connections. Before we delete anything, we ask Plaid to release the connections you authorised, so the link between NavFi and your bank is severed at Plaid’s end too, not just ours.
  • Your financial data — accounts and balances, transactions, credit cards, income, bills, budgets, and goals.
  • Your plans — every generated route, its payment and spending lines, and your weekly budgets.
  • Your assistant history — Navi conversations and the persona you selected.

We never held your bank credentials in the first place. Those go directly to Plaid and never reach our systems, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete.

6. What we keep, and for how long

A small amount of information survives deletion, because we are required to keep it or cannot reach it:

  • Payment and billing records. Our payment processors (Stripe, and Apple for App Store purchases) keep their own records of transactions independently of us, and we retain what we need to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to resolve chargebacks and disputes.
  • Operational logs. Server and diagnostic logs may reference an account identifier for a limited period before they age out in the ordinary course.
  • Backups. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before they are overwritten in the ordinary course. They are not used to restore deleted accounts.

When this information is no longer needed for those purposes, we delete it or de-identify it. Our Privacy Policy describes our retention practices in full.

7. How long it takes

  • In-app deletion — immediate.
  • Email request — we aim to action verified requests within 30 days of receiving them, and usually much sooner. We will confirm by email when it is done.

8. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you are not sure which route applies to you, email support@navfi.money and a person will help. You can also reach us through our support page.
