Got questions? We've got answers.
What is NavFi?
NavFi is the GPS for your money. It is a personal finance app for iPhone and Android that maps your whole financial picture (income, bills, debts, goals and card rewards) and then gives you turn-by-turn directions: what to pay today, what to save, and when. When life happens, it recalculates the route instead of making you start over.
Is NavFi a budgeting app?
No. A budget is a plan you write and then police yourself against. NavFi is navigation: it reads where you stand every morning, hands you the next move, and reroutes when reality changes. You never have to rebuild the plan, and you never have to guess which bill or goal comes first.
Who is NavFi for?
People who have bills, some debt and a few goals and want to be told the next move rather than handed another dashboard. It works for a first paycheck, a family juggling due dates, someone attacking credit card interest, or anyone saving toward a specific date. Students, nonprofits and partner organizations have their own programs.
How does NavFi work?
You connect your accounts or enter balances by hand, then add your income schedule, recurring bills, everyday spending categories and your destinations (goals with a target amount and date). NavFi runs a patent-pending route optimizer over all of it and shows you the next turn on the Home screen, the full route in the Navigator, and where your money can go on the Map. Every morning it re-reads your numbers and updates the route.
What is a "destination" in NavFi?
A destination is a goal with a name, a target amount, a target date, the savings account it lives in and a priority (optional, important or essential). NavFi routes money toward your destinations around your bills, so you know the date you will arrive, and that date moves when your numbers do.
What happens when I overspend or get paid less than expected?
NavFi reroutes. An unexpected dinner, a short paycheck or a bill that lands high does not break the plan. The optimizer shifts the most flexible stops, keeps the essential ones locked, and gives you a new route with an updated arrival date. No starting over.
Does NavFi move my money or pay bills for me?
No. NavFi tells you what to pay and what to save. You make the payments yourself in your bank or card app. Account connections are read-only, so NavFi can see balances and transactions but cannot move money.
Can I link my bank accounts to NavFi?
Yes. You can securely connect accounts from over 11,000 institutions so balances and transactions import automatically, or add any account by hand and NavFi tracks it from what you enter. Manual and connected accounts can be mixed.
Is my financial data safe with NavFi?
NavFi uses bank-level encryption, never stores your banking credentials (the connection provider handles the login), never sells your data and cannot move money. You can delete your account and its data at any time from the Help Center.
How much does NavFi cost?
NavFi is $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year (about $12.50 a month, 17% less than monthly). Both plans include every feature. Prices are for subscriptions bought on navfi.money in US dollars; subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store are billed by Apple and may be priced differently.
Is there a free trial or free plan?
Your first plan is free. Download NavFi, connect or enter your accounts, set your destinations and get your first route at no cost. After that, NavFi is $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year, and you can cancel at any time and keep access through the period you have already paid for. NavFi does offer four free money games on its site (Money Moves, Beat the Optimizer, Which Navi Are You and Where Can Your Money Land) that need no sign-up.
What devices does NavFi run on?
iPhone and iPad (App Store), Android (Google Play) and the web app at app.navfi.money. Your data syncs across all of them.
How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes if you have your numbers ready: account balances, paycheck amount and dates, recurring bills with due dates, a realistic monthly figure for everyday spending, and your goals. The Help Center has a pre-flight checklist, a nine-step onboarding guide and short tutorial videos on YouTube. A free 30-minute onboarding call with the NavFi team is also available.
How does NavFi help with credit cards and rewards?
NavFi tracks each card's balance, limit, APR and due date, tells you which categories to put on a card and which to pay from checking, routes extra money at the highest-interest balance first, and optimizes which card to use for rewards.
What is the Map in NavFi?
The Map shows nearby merchants (restaurants, groceries, gas and more) with what your route can afford at each, so a spending decision is made before you walk in, not after the receipt.
What are the Navis?
The Navis are NavFi's four money personalities: the Smart Strategist, the Debt Slayer, the Reward Seeker and the Risk Reducer. A two-minute quiz on navfi.money tells you which one you are and how NavFi routes differently for each.
Does NavFi work for businesses or nonprofits?
NavFi for Nonprofits maps every dollar before it moves and produces the board pack, the 13-week cash flow and reserve view that boards already read. Fractional CFOs and bookkeepers can offer it to their clients through the partner program.
Can I earn money recommending NavFi?
Yes. NavFi has partner tracks for affiliates and creators, campus ambassadors, organizations (employers, nonprofits, schools and communities) and lenders and realtors. Details and applications are at navfi.money/partners.
How do I cancel or delete my account?
Cancel from your subscription settings (or through Apple if you subscribed on the App Store); you keep access until the end of the paid period. To delete your account and data, use the Delete Account link in the site footer or the steps in the Help Center.
How is NavFi different from YNAB, Monarch or Rocket Money?
Those tools track and categorize what already happened, or ask you to assign every dollar yourself. NavFi decides the next move for you: it searches every legal route through your bills, debts and goals and hands you the one that arrives soonest, then reroutes daily. See the full comparison at navfi.money/compare.
